Putzing and Pondering

This Christmas was not exactly what we all expected. We actually haven't even had our Christmas celebration with Mom and Dad! On Christmas day, as many of you already know, Mom had an asthma attack and was brought to the ER, where they admitted her for pneumonia. She stayed a few days before leaving, but decided she like it so much she wanted to return! Thursday of the week between Christmas and New Year's, Chris headed in for what seemed like stroke symptoms, but was actually the pressure of her bone tumors causing stroke-like symptoms. Some of the swelling has since gone down, and she is "putzing and pondering" at home.

But we've had some hard news since then. The cancer above her neck is not responding well to treatment. While Dan and Chris are meeting with a radiologist next week to discuss some of those options, radiation was very trying during the treatment of the original cancer. This has been an emotional Christmas season for all of us. 

Please continue to pray for our hearts as we mourn, our hopes to remain strong in the Lord, and for comfort and healing for Chris as she carries on the hard battle against cancer. 

For the first post here, I thought I'd end with the verse that Mom wanted this blog to be titled after.

For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I am the one who helps you.' Isaiah 41:13
